Saw your concert in 2004 with Alan Parsons live project in Madrid. Your playing is naturally phenomenal. I play, have been since 1968 and only dream of being able to reach that level. I really enjoy listening to your playing.
Just saw the Happy Together concert at the MN State Fair. My friend, Joni, and I have made a tradition of taking off work and going to the fair the day of the concert. Every year we go to the same "ticket agent" and claim to be a relative of someone who is playing and look for "back stage passes". Every year he asks us "who are you related to this year"? And . . . "sorry your back stages passes have not arrived yet". Then we all laugh and Joni and I plot ways to get back there. LOL
We love the old music but are mostly impressed by your talent and passion for music; not to mention the versatility! Keep the tour coming!
P.S. What the hell happened to Gary Lewis this year?
Great show, and nice arrangements of the classic songs. And the band was bang on tight. I introduced myself to you after the show. I come to be familiar with you and your great guitar playing through my love of the bass playing of John Entwistle. I'm a bass player myself and prayed and worshipped at the house of Entwistle for the last 35 years. When I heard Happy Together was coming to town, I looked on your website to see if you were involved again this year, and when I saw you were, I told the wife were going to see Godfrey play. You didn't disappoint.
I never got to see John and you play together, but I have all your albums and DVD's you did together and love it all. I never met John, but new his playing well after trying to copy him for 35 years and still don't know what the hell he was doing half the time. Can't believe he's been gone for 12 years.
Thanks for the great evening Godfrey and it was a pure pleasure to get to meet you. Look forward to get your solo album.
