About Godfrey Townsend...

Godfrey Townsend is a New York based musician who has worked

with many of rock music’s most influential names.

In the past decade alone, he has performed nationwide with:

John Entwistle, bass guitarist of  The Who

Jack Bruce, bass guitarist/vocalist of Cream

Dave Mason, guitarist/vocalist of Traffic

Alan Parsons, producer/engineer/recording artist

Godfrey Townsend has appeared frequently at BB King's Blues Club

in New York City's Times Square, both with major artists and with his own band.

He has appeared there and performed to sold-out crowds with his annual birthday tribute to Eric Clapton for the past 15 years.

After hearing Godfrey jamming on some Cream tunes

in a club one night, Eric Clapton's guitar tech, Lee Dickson

commented to John Entwistle...

"This guy's got Clapton down better than Clapton!"

Since 2001, Godfrey Townsend…has also been guitarist/vocalist/keyboardist and

musical director for A Walk Down Abbey Road", a tribute to The Beatles.

Three separate line ups of artists toured the U.S., Canada & Japan.
